Vince Ruhl has been chasing sound since his freshman year of high school, when he started recording music with longtime mentor and creative partner, Chris Steffen. What began with garage bands and borrowed gear quickly turned into a lifelong love of the entire production process — the way people and technology come together to make something meaningful.
After earning a degree in broadcast production with a focus on audio engineering from Northeast Community College in Norfolk Nebraska, Vince returned to Lincoln and took on a new kind of challenge: running The Coffee Roaster alongside his wife, Sam. Together, they’ve grown it into a nationally recognized specialty roastery, known for its community spirit and elevated coffee experience.
Still, Vince never stepped away from production. In the early days of the pandemic, he and a few creative friends launched Basement Creators Network from his home basement, live streaming intimate concerts to keep local music alive. That spark became bCreators, a full-fledged livestream production company supporting artists, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations across Nebraska and beyond.
At Oakhill Strategies, Vince brings that same spirit — calm under pressure, and creative problem solving — to virtual events that connect with wide and diverse audiences. Whether he’s building the show behind the scenes or solving a tech issue seconds before a stream goes live, Vince stays focused on what matters: making it all work.
